#NEWS Alert: Bareways closes Financing Round

In November 2021 Bareways closed its next financing round. The company develops data models and -services with special focus on rural mobility and could convince three new investors as well as a part of the existing investor base – including Fabian von Kuenheim and the MBG Schleswig-Holstein GmbH – to continue its support. The amount of funding is not being disclosed.

The new funds will be used to strengthen the Bareways’ team of software engineers, globalize business development activities, and invest into the growing IP portfolio.

Bareways provides predictive location-based data for regions, where HD mapping – as it is done in urban areas – cannot be achieved due to the fast changing environment, weather, and the more complex drivability of roads. Use cases are scenic routing, test drives and round trips, e-vehicles, as well as assisted and autonomous vehicles. In 2021, the team won two serial development contracts plus several proof-of-concept projects from global automotive customers.

Bareways was founded in 2019 in Lübeck, Germany, by Sascha Klement (CTO) and Moritz von Grotthuss (CEO) after the successful exit of their former startup, gestigon, to the French Valeo group and two years of integration.
