Software Engineer/Image Processing Specialist (m/f/d)
You don’t need to have participated in the Dakar Rally and you don’t need to know how to replace the radiator grill of a Land Rover Defender – but some love for adventure, trips into remote regions and crazy vehicles would be nice to have.
As a Software Engineer and Image Processing Specialist, you hold a university degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or any comparable field of study. You have experience in developing methods and systems for image processing on RGB, infrared, or 3d image data. You did not just use methods from classical image processing libraries (such as OpenCV) but you also invented new approaches, e.g. for image filtering, segmentation, feature extraction, or classification. You have experience in optimizing such methods for real-time applications and when you say something is “done”, you did not just implement a method, but you applied appropriate testing and validation methods and your results are well documented. You are not afraid of complex software review and certification processes as they are common in automotive and aerospace applications.
You are used to working in agile teams using Scrum or Kanban and besides all the buzzwords your English is fluent and you speak some decent German.
At Bareways you will develop novel image processing methods to act as a backend for a location-based service for off-road applications based on cameras in and around vehicles as well as onboard satellites. You will be responsible for the design of adequate architecture and interfaces for the image data management framework.
You will have flexible working hours of in total 40 hours per week – and in the unlikely event of a night shift, we will adequately compensate that with free time. And if you ever require some extra time for your children, family, or a trip around the world, we will find an appropriate working time model for you.
We at Bareways want to bring advanced mobility services to all those regions & roads in the world that have been neglected up to now. Safety and sustainability are key values as well as adventure and fun.
Our offices are located on a technology campus in Lübeck, Germany – with a big park next door for lunch breaks, sport activities, or a joint barbecue.
Caution! If you only look for excessive off-road challenges, relaxed working hours, or chatting about the last road trip, we might not be the perfect fit for you. We are building products that need to fulfill the highest automotive quality standards; our customers shall count on the reliability of our technology especially at the end of the world when everything else fails. We will take these challenges with an innovative mindset and seriousness.
If you are interested in this adventure, if you want to grow with a young startup, if you are not afraid of making mistakes, and if you are willing to take new barely visible ways – come and join us!
We are looking forward to receiving your application with a cover letter and curriculum vitae.
