Will You Find Ways Where No Ways Are?

Software Engineer/Full Stack Developer (f/m/d)

You don’t need to have participated in the Dakar Rally and you don’t need to know how to replace the radiator grill of a Land Rover Defender – but some love for adventure, trips into remote regions and crazy vehicles would be nice to have.

As a Software Engineer / Full Stack Developer you hold a university degree in computer science, geo informatics, data science or any comparable field of study.

You prefer to develop APIs and applications in Python but you are equally used to other programming languages if more suitable (e.g. Javascript, C++, Go). You have experience in classical algorithm development (e.g. path finding, A*, travelling salesman, dynamic programming). You are familiar with common development tools (VS Code, Docker, Jenkins) and you are able to take informed architecture decisions (AWS Cloud, web services, databases).

You are used to work in agile teams using Scrum or Kanban and besides all the buzzwords your English is fluent and you speak some decent German.

At Bareways you will develop routing algorithms and augment trips with open data, weather and earth observation data. You will develop APIs and tools to provide, compress and visualize geo-spatial data.

You will have flexible working hours of in total 40 hours per week – and in the unlikely event of a night shift, we will adequately compensate that with free time. And if you ever require some extra time for your children, family or a trip around the world, we will find an appropriate working time model for you.

We at Bareways are building navigation services that operate under all weather and road conditions and provide attractive routes tailored for each vehicle. We love cool maps, we are fascinated by what can be learned from weather and satellite data and we want to bring advanced mobility services to all those regions & roads in the world that have been neglected up to now. Safety and sustainability are key values as well as adventure and fun.

Our offices are located on a technology campus in LĂĽbeck, Germany – with a big park next door for lunch breaks, sport activities or a joint barbecue.

Caution! If you only look for startup experience to pimp your CV, relaxed working hours or chatting about the last road trip, we might not be the perfect fit for you. We are building products that need to fulfill the highest automotive quality standards; our customers shall count on the reliability of our technology especially at the end of the world when everything else fails. We want to take these challenges with an innovative mindset and seriousness.

If you are interested in this adventure, if you want to grow with a young startup, if you are not afraid of making mistakes, and if you are willing to take new barely visible ways – come and join us.Â
